We are really pleased to introduce our new Residents Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, Serena Laidley to the SJMT team. Serena has just joined us and brings a huge amount of enthusiasm and experience to the role.
Serena says:
"Let me take a minute to introduce myself! I am Serena Laidley and I am the Residents Activities and Volunteer Coordinator for SJMT. As the Residents Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, it is my responsibility to get to know the residents at SMJT, to create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events, inside and outside of the home, for you all to enjoy.
The next step for me, is to work with each resident to understand their likes/dislikes, their needs, and abilities to organising activities that are tailored to the needs of individuals and create group activities to bring people together. By liaising between the volunteers, local companies, management, and staff, my job is to organise transport and trips out in the local community. Helping those that ‘shy away’ to take part in the activities. I welcome ideas that achieve a great success.
I believe activities can succeed with dedicated and like-minded collective so I’m quite excited to collaborate with all of you."
