What we do
How?
Shine is all about positive relationships and social connections.
Our practice is centred around a supportive, trusting, and developmental relationship between a young person, their Shine Supporter, their peers and sometimes their family.

My Realities Wheel
Shine Supporters tailor a minimum 18 months of support, bit by bit doing what it takes to create a brighter future for each young person.
Shine also works sensitively and proactively to bring groups of young people together to build social connections and positive relationships. Shine nurtures peer to peer friendships and works with young people to make these long lasting.
Shine Meet Ups and Shine Connect Sessions
We make time to bring groups of young people together for casual social meet ups as well as sessions that focus on building skills where young people can learn from each other.
Shine Mentors
We have a small group of skilled volunteers who work with young people to move them closer to employment or training.
Our Approach
Our approach is based on trauma informed ideas building relationships. We provide high support and appropriate challenge, working with young people in their areas of interest, strength and need. We get alongside young people and stay alongside them for as long as it takes.
