Respite Care

Whilst older people who need around the clock care are still often ‘looked after’ at home, there can be times when family or carers may themselves need a short break. This could be for just a few days, or a few weeks and that’s why we’ve created specific respite rooms within our Extra Care Housing Development at Alexandra Court.

This is a modern purpose built facility, registered with the Care Quality Commission and provides affordable, high quality short term residential care for elderly people with personal care needs. Alexandra Court is situated in a safe and secure environment, yet in a homely setting and it benefits from very attractive landscaped gardens. Our manager and care staff are fully qualified and trained to assist with a broad range of needs.

The facility has proved to be a very popular service with many people now requesting repeat bookings. Individual single occupancy rooms are modern yet tastefully furnished with ‘en suite’ facilities, telephones, and a wide screen TV. All meal are provided (breakfast, a midday cooked meal, and supper), and these can be taken either in the dining room, or if preferred, in the individuals own room. The accommodation benefits from having the ‘nurse call’ intercom system so that a member of the ‘on site’ care team can be called, anytime of the day or night.
