Hillborough Road, Olton, Birmingham
Another modern purposely designed care home, catering for 36 older people in nicely furnished and decorated self-contained rooms. The home certainly has a welcoming atmosphere with a number of bright and airy informal sitting areas - including a very popular large conservatory. The home is located in safe & secure environment with pleasant landscaped gardens, and every room has a nice outlook.
Most importantly though the home is well run by a highly qualified manager and an experienced team of dedicated and fully trained staff. They provide continuity of care and most of our staff here have worked for the Trust for many years. We engage the services of a professional firm of specialist caterers who prepare and cook all meals ‘on site’. They are highly experienced in this area, consult with residents on menu planning and are able to cater for people with special dietary needs.
Providing individually tailored care plans and then actually delivering consistently high care services is without doubt the number one priority for everyone involved.
The Home benefits from the latest assistive technologies, for example, all bedrooms (and communal areas) are linked to the ‘nurse call’ system which enables help to be obtained when needed by our ‘on site’ care staff - day or night.
Alexandra House is registered with the Care Quality Commission and enjoys an excellent reputation from the regulators, Solihull Council, and our local health care professionals. Indeed, the Trust makes arrangements with Doctors from a number of the local GP practices for a weekly surgery to take place, actually at the project. In addition, we organise regular visits from dentists, the chiropodist, opticians, and the district nursing team.
Our Manager at Alexandra House is Maureen Hamilton and you can contact her directly on 0121 245 1081. Maureen would be very happy to show any interested residents (or their family/carers) around the building and also a typical room - but by appointment please. Alternatively, you could also make an appointment by contacting our friendly customer service team on 0121 245 1002
